Nothing wrong with taking the higher paying job.
Problem occurs when you get overly greedy. By pushing the envelope to far, taking to much risk for little gain, or in the more severe case start blantantly breaking the rules/law. The accounting scandales such as Enron, and the sub-prime mortage fiasco are prime examples of the latter.
As for A-rod, seems to me like he is making a good business decision.

I absolutely think it's greed. How much money does one person really need? The man is already making anywhere between $20M and $30M a year after taxes/agents fees/lawyers fees etc.. with all of his endorsements and his contract. I think any average person would be completely content with making $1M or $2M a year and wouldnt even think of asking for a raise from his employer. This guy has the nerve to ask for more? Why? So he will be the highest paid professional athlete in history? What about in 50 years when players end up making that on average. Im absolutely appauled and do not respect him as a man or a player. The only A Rod fans I know are woman and theyre not fans because hes a great all around player!

Also I was born and raised in Boston and I will turn my back on the Sox if they were to sign him!

Both, and thats a good way to be if you are in pursuit of money. However you should try and respect the perimeters of the profession. Arod will get the big buxks because he is the best player in the game. But he is no hometown hero, he is merely a very well paid gun, and I dont think with all his skills he wins the fans over like a Jeter, Sizemore, Pujois or Chipper JonesHe and his agent showed little class in how they did the opt out message tiimeng and that will hurt him...probably not fianancially, but in the eyes of baseball fans everywhere. Even good greedy buisnessmen likes to think that someone likes them, In 50 yrs they wont talk about him like Ruth, Musial, Ryan or Mays. He will be a rich 82 yr old man that they will whisper behind his back, and in the end that may be his greatest legacy...he played baseball for the big bucks, not for the love of the game

The fans will think he's greedy, because once he gets more money, the prices of tickets will increase. The players want him to get more money, because it helps them get more money too. Look at J.D. Drew. The Sox gave him 70 million for 5 years, I believe it was, and he didn't do squat all year until he hit that grand slam against the Indians. Mike Lowell is a Free Agent now, and if the Sox want him they better pay him more than they did Drew. 120 rbi's, gold glove 3rd baseman, won a world series with Florida in 03, and Drew is a lifetime under achiever. Who should get more? So players want AROD to get as much as possible.
Where he ends up is the more interesting question.

both, a good business man gets everything he can for a marketable item. greedy b/c he damages the view some people have of baseball players. he was offered good money to stay w/ the yankees but is leaving to get more. personal note, hes not worth more until he produces in the postseason

Greedy as hell and a choke artist in the post season. He is great in the regular season but is terrible in the post. I think no one is remotely worth anywhere near 30 million a year and just to say it Boras is a waste of skin and a cancer in baseball

Both....

he's greedy cause he wants what he wants and a good buisness man to perform in the regular season to get it. although personally i think any player who chokes like he does in the playoffs shouldnt get that much

What would you do if someone (TEXAS) offers you 10y/$250million to play for them? Would you say "Oh no, that's too much money for me. If you offer me something lower, I'll accept.)

That would make you a fool, right? The purpose of life is to make money and in A-Rod's case, he's a good business man... Although, I can't stand his a$$!!!!!

Greedy, a cheat, a fraud, he builds you up and then breaks the Yankees heart. I am happy with that.
