It looks like an ant - brown with no markings that we can see.

We live in IL and the spiders were brown -all brown (pretty shade) I swear they looked like ants with long legs. One was in the bathroom and one in the living room. Should I be worried is really my question.

There are a number of spiders that mimic ants, some even live with them. They hold their front legs up in front to look like antenna. Look at spider sites for pictures of spiders in the genera micaria and castianeira. In particular check out Micaria longipes which occurs in your area, as does Phruratimpus bordalis. The only common name for these spiders is sac spiders. They are called this for the sac like web they rest in.

If you live in the midwest USA or South and the spider is brown look on the spiders back. If you see a fiddle or violin shape it could be a "Brown Recluse" "They can cause you a nasty bite that needs attention. They don't necessarily kill, they just make you hurt.

It doesn't sound like anything poisonous. Its definitely not a black widow and I doubt it is a Brown Recluse. They are bigger and have fiddle markings on their back. Just squaskh the damn thing and be done with it lol

Google spiders and find a web site that talks about them and shows pics that you should be able to identify it.
Good Luck :)
