If I see it on tv...........I "instantly" tear up!! If anyone has the news on about animal abuse & I'm there, I can't bear to even hear it much less see how horrible humans can be!!! I just watched some videos on our California fires (my son-in-law is a Fireman Paramedic), and I was so happy to see how many animals (horses, dogs, cats, etc..) our wonderful Humane Society of the U.S. went in and saved.....***BLESS THEIR HEARTS***!!

I have given and donated to the Humane Society as I KNOW animals CAN definitly feel pain. The videos went into more videos and then there I was, caught up in the abuse of horses and how even champion and top bred horses are slaughtered!!! OH, I could hardly BREATHE!!! I began to walk in circles thinking "how can I stop these EVIL barbaric act"!! I can't stand it!! I couldn't bear to watch the rest ...I just couldn't!! How can I deal with my deepest weakness in life?? I feel like I want to see those humans suffer for doing that!!! UGH!!

oh yeah its pretty sad. I hate it too. have a few suggestions for you that may make you feel better.

1) start an online abuse group for your area or open to all public to join. You would be amazed at some of the stories you hear. You would even hear of solutions + great plans on what to do about it. I did a search on animal abuse when I used to have a group, + you wouldn't believe all that info thats there waiting for you.

2) requires a generous sponsor or if you have alot of your own money. You could start your own rescue. Not only money is essential here, but so is space + supplies.

3) make an animal abuse letter or group + write up all the things you want to about it to educate people.

4) bring up the fact that children abusing animals is a major sign of abuse later in life. Abuse doesn't just stop with families, it carries onto animals too.

5) tell how ppl can tell if an animal is abused, how to know where dog fights are held, . . . . there's lots of stuff out there.

sometimes doing something in whatever way you can eases the pain just a little, but if anything it will strengthen your hatred of animal abuse. It did to me. I looked up everything, it upset me but made me stronger in my belief, now I think i would be very vocal to anyone i saw abusing an animal. I cried for first time watching men clubbing baby seals for their fur. I was 12 yrs old ! I still cry. It shows you have compassion for animals, nothing wrong with that. Just watch what you can take, then change channels or leave the room/theatre, . . .

Volunteer at a rescue. I wouldn't suggest the SPCA because alot of dogs + cats (especially cats) get put down more than any other animals.

This happens to me a lot, I've adopted 5 dogs from the streets and shelter because I just don't understand how people can be so fuked up.
What you can do is help as many animals as you can. Volunteer at a local shelter or go around your neighboorhood and you see an animal being mistreated, like they're outside bored, ask the owners if you can take the animal out for a walk so they're not so lonely .. Join societies that help animals... And get pamphlets and distribute them ... Become a vegan..

I mean, it might sound like it doesn't help but it makes you feel better because at least you're trying. And the most people join, the most people listen and they are taken more seriously.
Humans should suffer more than the animals themselves because we can scream, we can talk, but all they can do is moan, but no one really knows why... so its like making a baby suffer. It's innocent blood, and I understand.

You have a soft heart which is respectable. It is hard not to dwell on awful things that are happening. Unfortunately, because of the demand of meat, fashion, medicine, etc, animal testing will always exist. However, it can be helped. What you can do is to take a more proactive approach. It's great you are giving to the humane society already but think of a specific cause and get involved in it more heavily. If the abuse of horses touches a sore spot, get involved in an organization like "Equine Advocates". I'm sure they would be thrilled to have your passionate help.

It is perfectly okay to feel these emotions. I think the best thing that you could do is to help make people more aware that animal abuse is wrong. I think that some people believe that animals are just animals...they think they don't have feelings or etc.

I work at a vet school, and the one thing that I enjoy doing is researching ways to help breed and make more animals (reproductive technology). I guess making more would help to solve the problem, I'm not sure though.

There are many animal rights activist programs out there, maybe it could be something you could do in your spare time.
I hate animal abuse too, so good luck with your searching and planning efforts!

Best thing to do is to watch scenes that show humans treating animals with respect, don't watch news, there are bad people out there doing bad things for sure but the majority of people are kind and human so try to view only things which show positive things, HUmane Society ensure that all your money donated goes to them sometimes it gets lost in administration fees fundraising fees etc and only a few cents in the $ get there

I really do feel your pain. it hurts my heart when i hear about animal abuse. Sadly we can't always stop it, but if you ever see an animal that is being abused call the cops or Human society. for the life of me i can not understand why somebody can hurt and abuse an animal. Go to the local no kill shelter or humane society and volunteer. Not only does it feel real good, but its also nice for the animals to get that little extra love and attention.here is a good website to check out.

Darling, it sounds like you have some serious issues. It's not a bad thing that you care what happens to God's creatures. It is a bad thing if the thought of them suffering causes you so much grief that you can't function.

Remember that suffering is a part of life in the wild. Grizzly boars kill and eat cubs that they find. Predators eat the young and the weak, many times toying with the lives of their prey before they finally make the kill.

If thoughts like this disturb you very much I would suggest you talk to someone about it- otherwise you'll have a very sad life.

get involved. Investigate what degree you can get that will enable you to help the most and go to college and get it. Or become a police officer that deals primarily with animal abuse.
