All,

My father-in-law just accidentally broke the rear left hand side tail light on my 2003 530i. Using Bavauto.com as a guide, it appears that I need to purchase part #63 21 6 902 529. If I buy this part, can somebody give me some directions on how to replace it? I'm not very handy, but can follow good instructions.

I would appreciate any and all guidance on this.

Thanks very much!

James

They are held in with screws (as a rule) either accessible from the outside, or from in the trunk.

In the trunk, there are 2 or 3 nuts that hold it in place, you might have to pull the carpet back on that side to find them.

Unscrew them, seperate the old bulbs from the lens, then reverse order.

Now hold the damage over the father-in-laws head for something of his you want....:)

Best thing to do is just take it up to the dealer.
Do you have a extended warranty?
Also, if you don't want to do that way, then go on line under the BMW web site and they will assist you.
Don't mess with the car if you don't have to. The rear tail light is so important.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
