Do you believe there is good terrorism and bad terrorism ?

I was talking with man who believes there is good terrorism and bad terrorism .

He believes people who are opressed and only attack the military , police and government installations - is good terrorism .

Bad terrorism - Is attcking innocent civillains , school children etc .no matter how oppresed you are .

Do you believe there is good terrorism and bad terrorism ? Or does that not matter and all terrorism is the same ?

terrorism, is to terrorize nothing can be good about that.
if a person or a group of people stand against their oppressors that would be a rebellion and some times it takes a rebellion to make things right

The American Revolution was one of the first guerilla wars, and by today's standards many of our tactics would be considered terrorism. The first prime minister of Israel was a terrorist, but his tactics worked and his people hailed him as a hero. If people are oppressed, and only attack the military and the govt that is oppressing them -- that's not terrorism. That's fighting a civil war -- and if we include all acts of war in the definition of terrorism, that word loses all meaning.

Terrorism is a tactic -- it's using fear and terror to score points, and disrupt society -- it's generally attacks on civilians -- or attacks that have no other purpose than to cause chaos.

Attacking those who are attacking you -- for the purpose of making them stop -- that's not terrorism. Attacking those who have never attacked you, just to cause them pain -- that's terrorism. And terrorism is always bad.

"Terrorism" is rhetoric not an objective term. The proper one would be Asymmetric warfare . Of course the Hizbullah fought a masterful example of this against the Israelis in 2006.

Most Revolutionaries would be described as 'terrorist' simply because they would be engaged in 'asymmetric warfare'

the worst terrorist acts of WWII were the firebombing of German cities like, Hamburg ,Koln and Dresden etc and the Atomic Bombing of Japan were both carried out by regular forces.

No there is no good terrorism.
Blowing yourself up isn't going to make someone change their policies. Even if you are just attacking military complexes. All you are doing is all the work for your enemy by killing yourself. You get nothing done and you look trivial in the end.

The good terrorism you mention is not terrorism. It is freedom fighting. They fight for freedom of oppression. Bad terrorism is killing 3000 of your own people as a pretext to invade countries that had nothing to do with it.
