In my previous vehicle, a vw jetta, this info was in the owners manual, and made me feel better about how far I could go before having to hit the gas station. Now the light comes on when the needle is still almost 1/4 inch above the E. Can anyone help me?

You have about 10 miles to go.

When the light comes on just note the speedo reading and keep on trucking until it runs out. Anyone, but a bubble head, would know that a "low fuel warning light" means you need to look for a gas station rather than wonder how much longer can I go.

it's different for every vehicle, best thing to do is when the light comes on, go fill car up with fuel then subtract how much you put in from what the vehicle holds. this will tell you how much is left when light goes on...your tank holds 20 gallons
