First thing: Spain doesn't have a Socialist parliament, some members of its parliament belong to a so called "Socialist Party". Many other members of the Spanish parliament belong to the "Popular Party" (the former Spanish PM -José Maria Aznar- belongs to it, too). Second thing: This "Popular Party" hasn't yet condemned Franco, even though he reached the power by means of a coup, started a three-year long civil war, followed by a 40 year-long fascist dictatorship and died 32 years ago this November. You see, many people in the Spanish parliament still miss him.

the current members of Congress will condemn Bush ,when they decide to bite the corporate lobbying hands who feed them, never!
Congress people are not going to represent the people who voted for them until they are held accountable for their voting actions, maybe if a member was ousted or impeached by the public, other members would take their jobs a little more seriously

one does not necessarily embrace a feeling that he or she has been made a fool of. Nor do they want to purposely put themselves in a position where they have to admit they were wrong.
Congress as it stands now is not interested in bush or what he has done or not done. They only want to come to power in the next election.dealing with bush will come later.
