My Lexmark scanner has an image of a silkworm when I scan pictures. How can I get rid of this?? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

How old is it, the bottom of the glass picks up garbage with age and not all scanners release the glass for bottom cleaning. Clean the glass, but not with a blue colored window cleaner. The bulb may be going bad. New scanners are inexpensive.

Sounds like a bug has found a new home.

Look inside the scanner glass to see if you can see it.
Some scanners can let you clean under the glass, some not.

Have you check the glass surface (lamp included) are really clean?

New scanners are low $$$, especially if you consider frankenstein multifunctions that are 'broken' because while printer function is gone, scanner is fine.
