yup and it was a nightmare, it was my works ****-up and i had to wait for it to bounce back from whichever account it went too, went for 2 weeks without my pay! was not impressed and all they could do was give me an advance of £100 to last me! a joke!

Yes. Basically what happens is that a company can recall a payment within 24 hours without any other intervention needed, and it will then go back into their account and they can pay you the money owed.

If its longer than 24 hours before its noticed, then the situation becomes more complicated and the employer would have to get the bank to reverse the payment. It is still doable though.

If it was your employers fault, then they should pay you again now, rather than waiting for the money to be returned to them.

Only when a new Employee gave us the wrong account number ...

There have been a number of cases where payments have been processed twice (or not at all) .. and occasionally when a company changes it's payroll systems the new system can fail to pock up the old payment details correctly ..
