For number one, just say the type of government that Japan has, and how it came to be that way. For example, who started that idea in Japan, was there a specific reason why, etc. For number two, the question is asking what types of physical features the country has, such as rivers and mountains. You can look this stuff up in your textbook(?) if you are using a textbook, or the internet.

this is basically what they're asking.

1. What kind of government does the country have (as in Deocratic, Republic, etc...) and how was it formed (how did the country get to be whatever/however it's ruled? was there a revloution that led to change? has it always been that way?)

2. What is the landscape like in the country? (such as deserts, mountains, lakes, rivers, etc...)

They're asking
1. Is the government democracy, socialist, etc.
2. Physical regions are things like mountains, continents, plains, etc.

You need to do your own homework. These answers should be in your history book and it's very interesting to find out how our county became a democracy.
