The governor puts a spin on it that makes it look like he is fighting crime. He has broken, or caused to be broken many state and federal laws, in his anti-gun campaign. He has sent people out of state to buy guns, through illegal "straw" purchases, in violation o many laws.

Are you talking about letting illegals have drivers licenses?
If that is the case, he is not breaking the law.
The illegals have not had due process.
They maybe in the paper work mill in becoming citizens
Or any number of reasons.
Therefore, if an illegal can't get a drivers license, it is 100% sure, if the illegal illegally drives, the illegal will not have insurance.
Would it be better or worse to have it 100% sure the illegal does not have insurance, or less then 100% that they will?
I'd rather op for the less then 100%
Many really do want to be law abiding citizens. Driving without a license could result in immediate deportation. (I am only assuming that) Therefore, given a drivers license makes it 100% sure they can get insurance. That doesn't mean they will all get it, but it doesn't mean 100% won't.

Unfortunately you cannot sue or arrest government officials breaking the law within the capacity of their job description. So if Spitzer wants to give illegal aliens drivers licenses there is no real recourse. I think you can sue for an injunction, but it might not even be heard. I think the short answer is "very easily".

Hmm. So by that logic if we don't take away the drivers license of every american who's been caught speeding (breaking the law), then we can't lock up criminals at all!

In my opinion theres a lot of things wrong with our government and thats just one of them. I'm not sure what your talking about exactly but the government right now can pretty much do whatever they want and 75% if not more wont even realize it.
