Alright, allow to to break this down.

Junkyard Dog's gimmick had nothing to do with Elvis. Big Boss Man's gimmick had nothing to do with Elvis. KISS didn't originate painted faces, and a lot of wrestlers did it before Demolition. The comment about Ron Simmons is stupid. John Morrison looks and talks a bit like Jim Morrison but has nothing to do with "Indie music". Johnny B. Badd looked and acted more like Little Richard; Johnny B. Goode was a song name, not a performer. Aside from the phonetics of the name, MNM had nothing to do with Eminem. Kevin Federline shouldn't be on this list. You should be slapped for including him. The Spirit Squad had nothing to do with anything related to music. As for Scott Steiner's catchphrase, I have no idea where it came from, but his actual gimmick has nothing to do with music.

I don't think you really know what "gimmick" means in the wrestling world.

When Halloween is over, are you going to stop pretending to be a guy who knows what he's talking about?

WWF (at the time it was WWF) started the production entrances. They were the biggest and the best and the showiest.. Adding to the smoke, and lights, you needed sound.. and if you used popular music, people could associate wrestlers with it..

The 80's wrestling was deemed rock n westling, so much so, the wwf cartoon had hulk hogans rong n wrestling.

It has not died since.. WWE and all its different sub-groups do it, and alot of the other groups imitated, but never duplicated.
