Very funny. Even if true, this teacher would be 1 in 100 who wasn't a democrat voting teachers union loving teacher. Is this allegedly a public school?

Ask him why Richard Nixon resigned. Tell him under the Republicans, our oil prices have almost tripled since Clinton was in office, thousands of soldiers have died for a war that has nothing to with 9/ll, ask him why FEMA failed under our republican President and why do republicans have to depend on the christian right when religion and politics are supposed to be separate? Ask him why any movie star or tv star can run as a republican? Ask him why republicans believe the government can tell women what to do with their bodies (roe v. wade), then get back to me and I'll give you more questions to his answers. Good luck! (don't back down - ask him why you aren't allowed to hear another opinion besides his)

Susan,
I'm voting for a Republican candidate but it is your right to vote however you choose. When the race first started I looked at all of the candidates. Democrat and Republican. I looked back to their records and saw that the man that I agreed the most with was in fact running with the Republican party. My candidate is Congressman Ron Paul. Many of the Republican candidates are wanting him to move to the Democrat party because of some of his views, and I know several strong Democrats who have switched parties because of him. He follows our Constitution to the T. And that is very important. If you remember, Bush called the Constitution a *********** piece of paper, but he swore to uphold that Constitution in his Inaugural vows. I know you're going to say, "Well, he was Republican." Even we have our bad candidates. I know that your teacher has sort of soured you on Republicans but I would ask you to look at Ron Paul. I can tell you want to support your cause and I wouldn't blame you for spamming me just because I'm a Republican. I hope you don't though because I am just trying to to inform you of some of the other choices.

Your teacher is a rarity in today's Liberal biased school systems.
True, I agree that your teacher is biased and extreme.(Assuming your report is accurate.) NO political party is THAT far nutty (as stated by your teacher), Not even the Democrats!
But MANY Democrats come of SOUNDING that nutty.
Get used to it. You'll see and hear a lot of that from BOTH sides.
Most Republicans aren't like your teacher any more than it would be true to say all Democrats are that extreme.

I would ask him to tell the class in what countries over the course of history have people been jailed for their political beliefs as he suggests for the democrats. Also, how does this view square with the rights granted to the people under the first amendment? Does he prefer a one party system like they had in Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany?

You do what I would expect my students to do. I want my students to engage me, and their fellow students in active discussion of the issue(s) of the day. A teacher's personal opinion is not testable material. What you need to do is challenge any teacher you do not agree with, except on questions of classroom management. When it comes to a question of fairness in the classroom do not ever openly challenge the teacher in class. Most times that ends badly for the challenger. If you think you are being wronged go to the building principal, and tell your parents.

Bill Clinton and the Rep Congress got rid of the welfare for life program....Dems may raise taxes but think of our infrastructure..like the Minnesota bridge..Reps give tax breaks to the Paris Hiltons of the world..not you and me.
Bush's tax break was for the wealthy not the middle class. He gave us one $300 tax break, cut local funding and now we're paying more local tax
Ask him outright if he watches Fox News then just nod your head in sad agreement

That's unusual! Most teachers who go on and on about that sort of thing are liberals. I would make sure that my grades or me, for that matter, wouldn't suffer if I stood up to him. In other words, I wouldn't want to be knit picked on every little thing for the rest of the year or have my papers or tests scrutinized so closely that it becomes hell on earth. But, if you're willing to risk it or you know that he will be able to take it, bring something up that you know a lot about or challenge him on the foolish statements about putting any political party in jail for what they think. That's a bit like communism. Research a political issue and print out what you need to back yourself up with facts. Try to be calm and respectful, no matter how he acts.
(Threatening others with being reported is kind of like what your teacher is doing--and a violation of guidelines.)

I don't know what level of school this is, or what grade or subject.
However, the teacher should keep hie/her views to themselves and teach.
I would raise my hand and ask, what does this have to do with (whatever subject it is). If it IS thee subject, then ask if he is stating facts or personal views, cause they must be facts right? Aren't your personal views not supposed to be expressed???? I am here to learn and this isn't a platform for your views.
Well, you get the idea...and he can be reported

What your teacher is doing is unprofessional and unethical (maybe even illegal), because he tries to indoctrinate students instead of teaching them the facts. I'd talk to the parents or the principle and see if it is possible to stop what he is doing. The teacher should be an impartial arbiter of political discussions among students.
Also, he is wrong. Republicans are destroying our country, their policy caused a lot of harm to the prestige, wellbeing and security of the US.

Tell him he is entitled to his opinion because this is a free society, but his opinion is not what he is getting paid to teach. Your family pays taxes or you pay tuition to give you an opportunity to learn world history. He is wasting your time and failing to fulfill his obligations.
