For example I used to Wear large pads that fit perfectly but recently i changed them with Medium, now it looks small like college and Nfl players..

I play DT and I went from lineman pads (the shoulders were more square..) to WR/RB pads ( sides are more round look betteR)

id say they would wear what feels comfortable to them and still be able to deliver the hit,they prob wear the smalest ones to remain mobile and still offer some prot, cause the speed is important

Stick with your current size. A smaller pad might allow you more mobility, but it leaves you more vulnerable to shoulder injury, such as stingers or AC sprains. Smaller shoulder pads won't help you if your arm is in a sling.

Normally WRs, QBts, and DBs and sometimes RBs wear smaller shoulder pads. It's more for better movement. I have seen some OL and DL also wear smaller shoulder pads. For the OL it means a more streamline fit, less more the DL to get ahold of.
