Period and birth control?

I am taking birth contol and I want to know if I can make my period come a few days earlier. If I don't take the last 3 active pills will this cause my period to come earlier? Also, will I still be protected from pregnancy? Thanks.

It's actually much safer to skip your period entirely by starting a new pack of active pills instead of taking the placebos. Running packs together actually reduces your chances of pregnancy - the placebo week is the pill's weakest point.

If you don't take the last few active pills, you MUST remember to start taking active pills again no more than seven days after the last active pill. If you go more than seven days without an active tablet then you are very likely to ovulate.

If you don't take your inactive pills the you will skip your period completely for the month. NEVER miss any active pills as you wont be fully protected against pregnancy. It wont make it come early

If you want to skip your period then just start a new pack the day after finishing your active pills and your period wont come at all. However you may have some spotting.

Remember don't do this more the twice in a row as it could be bad for your system (my doc told me)

If you skip the last 3 pills your period will definitely come earlier, especially if it always comes the same time during your placebo week. I have done this before and it always comes three days after I stop the active pills. As far as protection, you shouldn't ovulate but I would use another form of protection just to be safe.

I'm pretty sure its okay. I have done it to so i could be over my period on my wedding day. I don't think its something you should do often but for something special SURE!!

Take them AS PRESCRIBED.
