There is plenty of spyware to be found on the net. And it's all free. Just go to any porno site, or warez or serials site and you will have a computer full of spyware. Try those free screensaver sites, also, tons of spyware there. Download anything and everything that any strange website asks you to.

Download some "stuff" using Limewire, too. Yup more spyware. Viruses and trojans also. A lot of it in fact!

Now that you have all this spyware on your machine , it is time to clean it up. For this you will need to get some ANTI-SPYWARE programs, of which there is some good free apps availible on the net.

For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs...............

Pick and choose at least 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so.

All are free or have a free version. All can remove as well as detect.

Spybot Search and Destroy:

Ewido (Now known as AVG Anti-spyware, Do not download AVG Anti-virus)

Adaware 2007:

SUPERAntiSpyware:

Windows Defender:

Unfortunately, many "paid for" anti-spyware products are in fact either of limited usefulness or downright scams. When in doubt, look at the list of rogue anti-spyware solutions listed here:

Good luck.

Spyware is basically software installed on your computer which is designed to collect information, or display ads or pop-ups when browsing online, or perform any number of other devious purposes. The bottom line is it compromises your privacy and potentially your identity. Spyware can be installed any number of ways, but you are usually infected from websites, P2P file sharing, or downloading other untrustworthy software. A computer is like a car and needs routine maintenance. I would advise installing a good anti-spyware and anti-virus and scheduling it to run weekly. You contract spyware from visiting malicious sites, clicking on unsolicited links/popups, downloading infected files, etc.

You want antispyware applications to compliment your antivirus products. There are a few listed below along with a spyware blocker. All are free.

====================
Spyware Blocker

This is free and requires you to check for and enable updates manually once a week or so. It uses no system resources. It blocks spyware before it installs.
SpywareBlaster (inoculates, not a spyware removal tool)

AntiSpyware Applications

SuperAntispyware

Spybot S&D (free version requires manual updating)

AVG AntiSpyware

Adaware from Lavasoft (free version requires automatic updating)

(These programs can be run in Safe Mode after installation and updating)

spyware is basically an add or adds that attach themselves to your computer, and advertise things or report your behavior over the internet, and clog your computer.
