I think people of colour are treated different in US. People of all race and colour should be treated with respect as we would like to be treated. I am white and proud to shake the hand of any person regardless of colour or creed. I am british.

Your question is unclear. What are you asking that people might be thinking about ?
Are you thinking of all people of color, or simply African Americans. If you are fishing for racist beliefs, that makes this somewhat confusing, because it might be taken the wrong way (like you were actually interested in learning). So, please clarify what you mean, this way people could actually answer the question rather than speculating.

Technically, almost every human individual can be described as a person of color.

Generally, I tend to think most of the people I meet are decent human beings, unless/until they give me a reason to change that belief. If they treat me with respect, they get it back.

Uh, that term hasn't been used since yer grandpa was banging the sheep out back. Wake up.
