Yes several times. Recently also. I try very hard to be poliet and eat what is put before me but sometimes things just get pushed around my plate. I hate to hurt anyones feeling unneccesarily.
My Grandmother through marriage cooks for everyone everytime she get the chance. She loves to serve others and that is a very Godly quality about her that I love. But she is 84 years old and sometimes doesn't get all the soap off her dishes and that makes for a very undesireable dinner with extreem tummy cramps. Sometimes she over cooks stuff to. But I don't say anything, and no one else does either. I respect my elders. So I try to help with the dishes or come early and help cook or help out and to spend more time with her also. I don't think she has caught on yet. I love her pure soul.

When the bride and groom passed by we would shut up but then kids was going to the garbage can throwing the cake away.LOL And the adults was wrapping it up to make it seem like they ate it. And some said they was gon take it with them to be polite. Man I was like forget that this mess is nasty. I got rid of it how I will never tell.LOL

Well, one thing that I cannot eat are peas. I would rather die than have one of those in my mouth.

I worked at a University and loved the diversity there and would get close to some of the students. Some invited me over for dinner. The wife made this dish and it was full of peas!!! I panicked because I didn't want to be rude. I took the husband aside and told him my situation and he was very understanding of it.

Yes. My sister said, "Let's grill some STEAKS!!!"

Now, out here in Wyoming... BEEF country... I was expecting these LOVELY thick, savory slices of beefy deliciousness. What we got were tough, overcook, rather tasteless slices of some kind of meat.

We ate it, but were sorely disappointed with the meal, but we ate it to be polite to my sister and bro-in-law.... even accepting "seconds" when they were offered. After dinner, she said to us, "Well, how did you like the meat?" We made our non-commital responses, and she replied, "Well, you just ate ELK steaks."

Needless to say, we were disappointed that it was not the BEEF ... tender, juicy, lucious slabs of beef.... that we had expected, but we were not happy with the deceit. I tried to explain to her, it's not that we refuse to eat elk if offered so you have to trick us into eating it... or that it is unedible (as opposed to INedible), but having the CHOICE not offered to us, and expecting something so TOTALLY different from what was offered, was the problem. I also tried to tell her, "Look, PORK is EDIBLE, but the Jewish people don't eat it, not because it's UNedible, but because it's a CHOICE they make." To THIS DAY, she still cannot understand why we were upset.;

Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

My family is full of excellent cooks, but when something tastes trully horrible, I fall to the ground with a 'stomach ache'. Then I eat later.

Oh yes at this little old ladies house and I looked around the table too see how everyone else was doing and they didnt seem to have a problem so maybe it was just me trying to choke it down-- But I kept watching her powdered little face and I just couldnt take it.

Yea, the last time I went to Honk Kong I had to eat/drink this really horrible tasting vegetable soup my grandma always makes. I had to eat almost 3 bowls of it, I felt sick when I went to bed that night but my grandma was happy.

YES- My Mom's Aunt (May she rest in peace)- housed 9 cats in her home. She LOVED to cook, and loved to watch us eat her "tasty treats", also. She made cookies- found a cat hair in one of them one day (IMAGINE THAT)- I gagged it down. As soon as she left, we tossed our cookies, and tossed hers, also....From then on, her cookies were called "Cat Hair Cookies"- Poor dear, she really did try!
We won't EVEN go with the story of her "Sticky Rolls"
Take care and have a great day!
