Those are a lot of questions about real deep subjects. What you want is an education in and possibly a PhD in philosophy. For a start just simply type "logic" into Yahoo web search; out of the many informative links that come up, wikipedia has a good summary. You got your introduction to deductive "mathematical logic" in high school if you took geometry. Then there is "inductive logic" which is the "spark plug of science". I won't go into the "methods of reasoning" here as it is too long.

"Coherence" is just an argument "sticking together" internally; no internal contradictions.

Truth is just that set of "facts" that is undoubtedly "real" to you and to you only. What is true for you may not be true for me. One has to find others whose truths cohere with ones own truths in order to not lapse into "solipsism" and to be happy. "Birds of a feather stick together." B. Franklin. "No man is an island!" J. Christ

Having said so little I'll close with the suggestion to look up all in quotes above as an introduction. Good luck, good health, peace and Love!

The best source of fallacious arguments with examples is at http://www.don-lindsay-archive.org

Elementary logic is like elementary mathematics-
it seems like a lot of work to get it, but once you have it,
you'll never regret it.
Good Luck!
