Hi,

I could never understand why people go to night clubs, I'm not speaking of strip clubs but those with trance, house, techno music where I could only find negative attributes such as:

- overcrowded (more crowded than the tube at rush hour),
- long lines,
- exaggerated prices,
-probably quite a lot of junkies/drunks,
- music much too loud to have a conversation,
- the music is 90% the same all the time,
- dancing has the same moves all the time (no art like in tango or other types),
- after 1 hour everyone is sweating gallons of sweat...etc....

So what's the big deal that makes so many people go there?????? Probably you'd say I'm old, but I'm 26 and I couldn't understand this kind of fun so far...

For anyone interested in this, I've found a small psychological analysis at the following link: http://www.lloydianaspects.co.uk/evolve/menwont.html
Anyone who can share such knowledge would be very welcomed. Thanks for the answers so far, hope to receive more:)

It just depends on the person. I have friends who just don't like to go and I have friends who love it. I think it's because you can just let go. Yes, everything you said is true, but for some, that's the thrill of going to a club.

I go clubbing bcos thats were i feel free. It a big form of release for me. but i can understand its not for everyone...

I dont go for chatting, if i wanted to converse id go to a lounge or a bar...

when im on the floor, i really feel the music and i have to express it, everyone else is just moving vaguely to the music, but i go all out, something i wouldnt do in public, much less a room full of strangers, but sometimes it doesnt feel like there are any strangers on the dance floor.
If the crowds arent sweating it, the DJs doing something wrong!
and no im not a junkie...

I totally agree with you. I too cannot fathom the draw to these culture-less clubs and such. What ever happened to the days where a dance required knowledge instead of shaking a part of the anatomy that is unmentionable on yahoo answers? I think the problem is the convenience of these clubs and they sexuality they portray. You know the "easy" innuendo. I'm with you!!

communication and interaction with other people. That is why we have several choices for things. You don't like it. Others do like it. And no one says you have to like it. Or even understand it. You do what you like to do and they will do what they like to do. (Actually I agree with you.) But I do believe that others should have the right to their opinions also.
