2GB RAM and the hard disk depends on how big of one you need. I believe 320GB HDD is more a modren size.

Right now UR kinda at a stand still with CPU Power right now....There haven't been any applications made, that will utilize Dual Core Processors Yet...
Memory had gone from 512mb to a 2gb standard right now...
The OS XP can only support 3 gb worth of memory
And VISTA 64 can support 4...
Applications are getting much bigger,,there for require more storage room,,,hence the Terabyte...
A modern System today will be enough,,,but It really depends on what UR using it for...If you are a serious gammer then the answer would be No... There will always be something better and faster than the last part...
Applications don't need all these upgrades and can potentially last for several years and still handle things...

Hi. 3GB of RAM and 500GB of disk storage will hold you for quite a while.
