If i hear that word *obese* spoken again by any well meaning numpty - i will surely scream....
I wish the government and everyone else would leave people alone - and stop telling us were obese -- aaarrrggg!!
They say overweight ppl cost the health service a lot of money -- we all cost the health service a lot of money - our bodies don't last forever - at some point we are all going to need some sort of treatment - leave us alone i say and stop picking on ppl who enjoy their food just b/c you can't balance your budget.......
Hope I've made some sense - but if i haven't - at least I've got it out.. : )

No I don't although we perhaps don't do anything about it we really all know when we are being gluttons. My hubby and I were just talking of this tonight. My father is almost 90 yrs. He has been a small, overweight tubby since he was in his 30's. He loves ALL food, food that is good for you and all the rubbish like, pies, loads of sweets, choc every week, thickly spead butter, cakes, scones everyday. He's had not heart problems, strokes, Cancer or any other serious ailements. My friend's mum is the same, she is now losing her memory but nothing physcial and she is 97 yrs. It makes you wonder if you should believe all you hear.

Now then. Where's my frying pan. Bacon is cooked at it's best by using no fat in the pan. Just fry it a couple of minutes on each side and don't jiggle it about, just let it lie. In a separate pan heat some oil, and fry your eggs and a few mushrooms if you have some. Remove your bacon, put on your nice big plate, and add a little more oil. Place slice of bread into it and fry 'til crisp. No you haven't died and gone to heaven. It really is that good. So no worries about the government. There will still be one when we are all dead and buried.

Like you sam,or not but cancer runs like a racehorse with our family.Said before, never smoked, never drank, and yet throat cancer twice. My wifes mother dropped dead at a bus stop whilst she was eight.Cholesterol was the problem and my wife inherited it.So we eat senseably. She has beaten breast cancer bless her .Why we dont know but our daughter was born blind and deaf and needed an immediate trachy,as of that i have now.She had what you term frog eyes but no nasel passageways, and we nursed her to six and lost her. There is a lot more i could say but i dont think inviting it is such a good idea Maybe one day my wife and i will do something right, who knows, but we are both quite slim so that at least is something for now xxx

I wouldn't worry - it wasn't that long ago (and still continues today to some extent) that even some of the so-called healthy options found in stores contained much more sugar, salt and unhealthy fats than what was found in food previously labelled as being unhealthy.
You can't win.

How do you know who to believe?Next week it will be greens and fruit that are bad for you. It`s about time they stopped giving millions of pounds to these quangos and did some real research.
Our parents and grandparents ate dripping butties and every food that today is labelled bad, but their lifestyle negated the bad effects.Let common sense prevail.

No. But, it has nothing to do with the government telling me to not do that. It's because diabetes and heart disease run in my family, and I want to be around to see my grandkids.
We have to draw the line between rebellion and intelligence somewhere. There are smart reasons to rebel against the government, and there are dumb reasons. "Because they are saying to do something" is a dumb reason. Because they are saying to do something WRONG is a smart reason.

Ever wonder how Dr. Jeykll Mr. Hyde were suppose to fatten domestic animals for food consumption all for "Money, money, money" with more weight.
Somehow it back-fired.
With the children ended up in obesity.

Ever wonder what GM foods were all about?
With all the freaks around us?
What do you think?
