How can the post office possibly justify their advertising claim that they're "The Peoples Post Office", when they're currently in the process of closing hundreds of branches in places where the people rely on them most?

And while we're on the subject.
The Peoples Post Office?????
That implies there's some sort of choice.
They're the ONLY post office for feck sake.

Swampy...

It's called competition. The post office is being forced to compete with FEDEX, UPS and various other mail services now. You'll notice that the Post Office seems more interested in providing you with better service lately, and offers different products and services. And... as in every case where Government competes with the free market... they are getting their Butts handed to them.

Now... if only we could find a way to compete with the DMV and the Public Education System.

The government in it wisdom has been removing services from the post office. Now benefits get paid directly to banks, they no longer do car tax etc. They done this to save money.

So it not really a surprise that the smaller ones are now losing money is it. Its a political decision not a economic one like they say. So if your not happy write to your MP.

I'm definitely not one of 'their' people. I have to walk over a mile now to my local Post Office and they're talking about closing that one too!

They are probably closing branches because email has taken the place of old fashioned letter writing. This is why the price of stamps are going up every year.

How old are you & stop reading the Sun you Numpty.
PO's were for people to collect their pensions & doll cheques. In this day & age every person has a bank account and all payments are direct transfers. However numpties like you want to stand in a queue waiting to get your doll money.
You are not too tightly wrapped.
Stop using the "f" word. The only thing that needs "f'd" is your face.
