depends on the sentence and what you are writing about well my way of thinking i would not use this for the beginning of a sentence i would try and do it some other way you might get another reply better than the one i just gave to you good luck on this

you can begin a sentence with any word. But is a word that you can not have at the beggining of a sentence.

yes, sure. an example- This sentance starts with "this".

i have no idea why not. we say it all the time. i've never gotten a red pen mark on any of the papers i've ever written, and i wrote a lot of them in college.

Never start a sentence with a conjunction such as "and" and never end a sentence with a preposition such as "with". "This" is OK.
