Because they're the poster child for the dowtrodden non-BCS schools who don't play anyone.

Anyone who thinks a win is a win is a moron. There's no way that a win over San Jose State or New Mexico State is equivalent to a win over South Carolina or Texas Tech or Iowa.

And I don't care if they did go 13-0 last year. Except for the Oklahoma win, they really had no other decent teams on their schedule with the exception of Oregon State, and there's no way they should have been mentioned in the same breath as the national championship. Florida would have ripped them a new one last year, and would even rip them a new one this year.

They're still in the afterglow of the Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma, plus they've been on thurs and fri espn games and gotten national exposure.
Saying that Boise should've won the national title last year is ludicrous. If they played in the SEC they would've won 3 conference games at the most.

Sure, the level of their opponents hasn't been great, but then again Boise State isn't really a great team either. So for them to beat the teams they have, would be the equivalent of Ohio State beating teams like Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, etc. So I wouldn't really say they're "over ranked". Plus every school has "gimme" games. Look at OSU playing against teams like Akron, Kent St., and Youngstown St.

Because Boise has won more games than anyone this decade except Oklahoma.

wins are wins, and this year in college football you are hard-pressed to find a 1 loss team that doesn't have a lot of flaws...we will find out what they are made of against hawaii, they went into fresno and beat down a decent fresno state team, so i think they are for real, but again we'll see what happens when they have to travel out to face that offense

How can they be overranked? They have been one of the VERY best teams over the last several years. They are not as good as usual this year though.

Probably because they should have been the national champs last year.

I hate the voting system, they need to have a playoffs in college ball but they make too much money with the BCS.

Maybe because they have won their conference for 5 straight times? But to say that they should've won the national title is absurd. Both Florida and Ohio State would completely destroy the blue turf dudes.
