I generally have thoughts of suicide that greatly intensify during the holiday season. I have never had it hit with the intensity this early in the year. I just heard a song from an album my friend burned for my. The artist is Townes Van Zandt. The song is "Like a Summer Thursday". My ex-wife's name was Crystal. Please read the lyrics. This is killing me...maybe literally. Help!

Her face was crystal, Fair and fine
Her breath was morning, Her lips were wine
Her eyes were laughter, Her touch divine
Her face was crystal, And she was mine
If only she, Could feel my pain
But feelin is a burden, She cant sustain
So like a summer thursday, I cry for rain
To come and turn the ground to green again
If only she
Could her my songs
bout the empty difference
tween the rights and wrongs
Then I know that i
Could stand alone
As well as they
Now that shes gone

I have had suicidal thoughts for years. I am not going to do it tonight. I just can't stand the pain, that is all.

By the way, this song is absolutely beautiful. It is so sad though. Especially to me.

I think peraps I am being misunderstood. I don't (that I am aware of) long form my ex. I am glad we are not together, and I am glad she remarried and has a family. It just brought back the emotion of finding out about her infidelity and the fact that I am alone.

It sounds as if you need some help getting over the x, and dealing with this depression... Please go see your Doctor tomorrow! It will help you too if you call a good friend and maybe have a good cry... Just don't do anything permanent right now as your not thinking clearly, you are just to emotional to deal... we call it crashing... just hang on and get some help!

God Bless!

If you killed yourself, think about how much it would affect the people around you. I know a few people who have killed themselves and it still affects me to this day....it was a horrible, awful time dealing with it. I cannot even describe the feeling. Do you want to do that to your family? Your friends?

Come on, you still have a life to live. USE it. I get the impression that you do not do much to help yourself, and you need to start doing that.

In the meantime, stop listening to songs like that. It just puts you in self-pity and is not healthy.

First things first, choose what kind of environment you put yourself in.
This song is not part of a good place for you to be.
I know, I've been there.
Choose comedy. Choose to work on your home.
Choose to go out and volunteer for others, whatever it is.
Choose to get yourself out of this.
And in the meantime, fi there's a chemical component to this, that's where a good psychiatrist comes in.
Don't be scared of that.
See, I had a terrible hormone illness that even my GP didn't bother to catch- he prescribed me some Paxil and never took a blood test for my anxiety.
When I went to a psychiatrist, it was much worse depression and anxiety- nearly bi-polar.
Turned out that so much of it was HORMONES!
(Thyroid.)
So, you never know what can set you off.
But, this song is not helping.
Doing for yourself, and especially for others, is what you makes you feel better.
Choose that.

Please I validate your pain. At this time since you feel overwhelmed, before you go deeper into a further state, please take my advise and visit your doctor, be upfront with the appointment clerk and get in. His medical help could really make a difference and I am rooting for you.! There are people who understand emotional pain, you are not alone or uncared for, we all have struggling times in our lives. This sounds for sure like you need to see your doc because hurting feeling seem to be too overwhelming and at that point you see a doctor. Please take my advise my soft hearted friend.
