I just flicked on my porch lite for the trick or treaters here. I have lived here for 5 yrs and never get a kid at my door. I think maybe its because my kids are now grown and we dont know any of the neighborhood ghosts and gobblins.
When my kids were little, we had hundreds of trick or treaters. How can I get them to come to the house? I miss seeing them

Decorating helps. But it also depends on where you live if you live on a empty street or an a hill then most kids think it is not worth it. So if you have neighbors ask them if they are going to do it! Also go at teh end of the end of teh street maybe and just set up a chair there so the kids don't have to walk all the way to your house!

definitely decorate the house.. you might even want to sit outside on your porch for a bit... it kinda eases people in.. Most trick or treaters judge a book by it's cover. no decorations, no good candy

You could decorate more: red lights, blood, a scary soundtrack . or maybe with like just homemade stuff like spiders made out of garbage bags?
