In a town near where I live they are removing all of the playgrounds because there are a couple kids that got hurt and their parents sued. The playground was not broken, the children were just not being safe. Do you think that the parents should have the right to sue and have all the playgrounds removed if the playground wasnt at fault for the injury?

Sounds like moronic parents who didn't watch their own kids. Sadly personal responsibility has become a dirty word in our society. People want the government to do everything for them instead of actually bothering to parent.

If they were public playgrounds in a public park, no. However, many schools are removing playgrounds for the same reason. This situation is different because while the child is at school they are under the care and supervision of school faculty/staff. This would create a better negligence claim. However, if these are playgrounds in a public park, then yes, these are pretty frivolous lawsuits. Chances are some trashy person who enjoys living off other peoples money told their kid to go get hurt so they could get a nice payout.

I don't think so. I think the town should just put up a sign stating they aren't responsible for injuries that occur during the use of the equipment, unless the equipment can be considered unsafe for use.

The playground should not be removed. Kids still need to play. Otherwise they will get fat or get into trouble.

I think the town should remove those parents. Vote 'em off the island, so to speak.
