I think it was when the Packers were playing the 49ers in 95'. Jerry Rice clearly did fumble and the game should have been over. Instead it was not called a fumble and Steve Young threw a 30 yard TD pass to TO with no time left on the clock.

To bad they didn't have instant replay that year.

actually, that was in 1998 Wild Card Playoff. i agree, it was pretty bad. however, i think i saw one worse....

Packers @ Cowboys
1995
cannot remember if it was the championship game or regular season game, but this is what happened. Brett Favre threw to Antonio Freeman. Freeman caught it and ran for about 20 yards before the safety caught up. the safety then grabbed his facemask and held it as freeman was barely moving for the next 10 yards. this was right down the sideline in front of a referee. freeman's head was finally jerked to the ground 10 yards later. no flag was thrown.

i have hated the cowboys ever since. worst non-call i have ever seen in my life as it was all too obvious.

The 1976 Playoff Game - Patriots vs the Raiders.

The Pats were ahead 13-10 in the 4th quarter with about 3 minutes left. The Raiders were 3rd and long. The Pats bull rushed Ken Stabler and nailed him as he released the ball. Even by todays rules that protect the QB, that play would have been ruled an incomplete pass. BUT - referee Ben Drieth called Roughing the Passer and instead of the Raiders having to Punt, the ref gave the Raiders 1st and 10 and a short field. Ken "the snake" Stabler threw a fade pass to TE Dave Dolbey in the end zone and the Raiders won it and when to win the S-Bowl....

These are plays that happened at real speed, so mistakes are possible. There was a game that went into overtime (I think the Steelers were playing) and the guy called tails but the ref said he called heads. The flip came up tails and the other team got the ball first and won the game. That is far worse than blowing any live game call.

Steelers - Colts in the AFC championship in 2005.

When Troy Polamalu clearly intercepted Manning, walked like 3 steps after he controlled the ball, fumbled and recovered his own fumble...but the referees called "incomplete pass".

They had instant replay then.

The Steelers won anyway.

I go with the Lions hosting the Steelers on Thanksgiving Day during the overtime coin toss when Bettis called tails and it landed tails but the ref thought he called heads and the Lions went on to score that first possesion and win

The 95 offensive pass interference calls that weren't made against Michael Irvin during his career.

That and Brady's tuck/non-tuck against the Raiders in the snow.

Definitely the tuck rule, and the offensive pass interference on Darrell Jackson in Superbowl XL. The Stealer pushed him first.

That Ben Toothlessburger TD was crap as well.

just watch a replay of the Super Bowl the Steelers stole from the Seahawks. There were about 4 or 5 there that would qualify.

Probably the Patriots-Raiders tuck call that cost the Raiders a trip to the Super Bowl.

The "coin toss" for over-time between the Steelers & Lions.
The player clearly called "tails", the "ref" said,"Heads is called........" Clearly a "botched" call.
Give the NFL "full-time" officials. Not part-time, "never-were" atheletes!!!!!
