Ok my friend is a great person...pretty,talented, smart, and super-nice. She plays soccer and is very slim, but recently she has no appetite and can barely eat much without being nautious. She has no intentions of becoming anorexic, because that scares her as well. What should she do?

She should talk to her doctor, immediately. She may have a medical condition that is affecting her appetite - only her doctor can figure out the exact cause.

If she doesn't want to be anorexic, but doesn't do anything to treat her nausea and weight loss, then she is being passively anorexic by not helping herself - and the damage to her health will be the same.

Time for a trip to the Doctors,
She may not WANT to become anorexic, but Anorexia & Bulimia are a reality.
Stay on the safe side, do the Doctor thing

Tell your friend to go get a thyroid test. Even if she has no problem with her thyroid, it is worth taking the test to find out.
Make sure she is not pregnant, depressed, or trying to lose more weight. Be there for her. That is the best thing you can do for her. She should take vitamins to make sure she's getting the nutrition that she needs. She needs to drink water, Gatorade or whatever she likes best to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Good luck.

You have to support her.. Most probably she is heading there but without her will .
You can start building her self esteem specially about her body.
Talk to her parents to be aware of the problem before it escalates
Try to be with her during meals and watch what she is eating convince her with health food that won't let her gain weight.
Wish you good luck and I know how hard it might be .

People say they aren't aneroxic all the time! You need to make sure it doesn't go too far with her. Offer her some 'healthy' treats and try to talk to her about how it may seem that she hasn't been eating enough. I hate it when people say go to doctors. but if you have to go to that measure...do it for her sake!

No one INTENDS to become anorexic... She needs to see a doctor, it might be something simple. Good luck.

get her checked out by a doctor. If they say nothing's wrong, then it's possible she has a naturally low appitite. It's not too uncommon.
