1. Until he redeemed himself, he would be booed mercilessly. A couple of walk off home runs and a few Jimmy Fund appearances and he would be up for sainthood, don't kid yourself.
2. I hope they keep Lowell and save some money.
3. An interesting piece of trivia. Who has more World Series home runs, Bobby Kielty or Alex Rodriguez?

I was thinking the same thing...A-Rod obviousley isn't too well liked. I think the fans would be pretty upset, but that's just my opinion. If they're real fans, they'll still love the Sox, but they'll hate A-Rod. I, personally don't want A-Rod on my favorite baseball team and I'm sure other fans feel the same! I'll love the Red Sox all the same, though. Right now, I think the Sox need to focus on keeping Lowell on the team!

If he was a Red Sock or not, it doesn't matter where this guy goes. Texas and New York have pretty much set too high of an expectation for A-Rod. Let's face it, no player is worth what he's getting. He's good but he chokes in the playoffs. It doesn't matter if he went to the Cubs or Angels, he's going to be disliked by everyone. Getting that much money per year, fans expect perfection, which they should. When they don't get it, A Rod will hear it. If he was with Boston, he would get booed regardless, especially playoff time.

To say A-Rod is not liked is an understatement. He has his loyal fans. He would be an asset to any team he played for. He may not produce in post season but would you really boo him if he were on your team. I persoanlly don't think so. Some Red Sox fan stated if he were on her favorite team, she would still cheer for the Sox(as she should, because she is a loyal fan to her team) but would boo when A-Rod came to the plate. Scenario, bottom of the ninth, Fenway Park, two men on base, nobody out, playing the Yankees, coming to bat is A-Rod, do you think she will actually get off her seat at Fenway & boo. I don't think so.

i wouldnt want to see him in a red sox uniform.....we saw how much he wasnt liked in new york and he apparently doesnt want to play there anymore cause it wont be "his" team and that certainly wont happen in boston either...he hasnt been big in the clutch in the playoffs, but lowell has. he would not be treated well, we would all miss lowell, i hope that is the deal that gets done. im even more down on him after what he pulled in game 4 when he announced he was opting out of his contract.....us red sox fans couldve cared less thats for sure, i just didnt need to hear about it.

Why would you want a guy who is interested in only himself, doesn't give a flying flip about the team and has NEVER led any team he's been on to the World Series. A Rod has a lot of athletic ability but personality wise he's a pariah, the proverbial rotten apple which spoils the barrell.

The A-Rod years would be known as the "Black Years" Years when true Red Sox fans would have to stop rooting for them. Until A-Rod vanishes.
But fortunately THAT WON'T HAPPEN...Right?!

Fans would be skeptical until Boston won another World Series.
If A-Rod goes to Boston and they win, fans will love him, but until that curse on him is broken, they will be skeptical no matter how good his numbers are.
I will add this tho, as of lately Boston is the place to go to break curses..

I have a question going on about roughly the same topic...except I'm more on to whether it would benefit the Sox or not to have him play at SS or 3B.
Here's the link to my question if anyone is interested:
