the y intercept is when x=0, so just set x=0 for both equations.

7-12(0)=3y
7=3y
y=2.5

4y+9=5(0)
4y+9=0
4y= -9
y= -2.25

y intercept is where you cross the y-axis. so X = 0

1.) 7=3y, y=(7/3) answer: (0, {7/3})
2.) 4y+9=0, 4y=-9, y= (-9/4) answer: (0, {-9/4})

remember y=mx+b, for intercepts mx=-b

1. y intercept = 0

2. y intercept = - 9 /4

7/3 and -9/4
Just solve for y
3y = -12x +7
y = -4x +7/3 <-- - 4 is slope and 7/3 is y-intercept
Similarly'
4y+9 = 5x
4y= 5x-9
y = 5x/4 -9/4 <-- y-intercept = -9/4
