If you want an answer to this, look to Nicaragua where abortions are currently illegal. And what has happened is this:
1. There are no 'official' abortion statistics so the anti-abortionists feel better because abortion does not 'officially' exist.
2. Rich women fly to Manilla for an abortion.
3. Poor women go to back street abortionists, end up with perforated wombs and infections and die.
4. Women with genuine pregnancy bleeding are afraid to go to the doctor for fear of being accused of trying to procur an abortion.
5. Again in Nicaragua, there are no exceptions, so even if the woman's life is in danger, she cannot get an abortion.
I find it hard to see the humanity in this.
Best wishes
Dr Evie Wallace.

I'm personally pro-life but I think if they illegalize it people will either try finding a doctor (that might not even be licensed) and getting a staff infection and possibly die or go to differnt extremes and hurt themselves and the baby and get nowhere but the ER the only thing good about it will be the few who have the child an take care of them or the people who actually decide to be careful and not become pregnant in the first place

Well, there's the increase of high school drop out rates, the swarm of even more kids into foster homes that get passed around, more kids in poverty, more kids resented, more kids to be on welfare. im sure alot of people will kill themselves trying to abort at home, and the list could go on. Im sure glad those fundies feel the need to save the world and shove their rosaries up my pee hole. The thing i dont get is how come its usually a bunch of little old men at the clinics throwing the rotten fruit at 14 year old girls?
Edit: Does your sperm suffer when you flush it? Then it isnt suffering when i induce a miscarriage in the first 3 weeks. Does salmonella have rights? Thats about how functioning and "alive" the little clump of goo is . . . . The people that wait 6 months and then decide they dont want it, yeah, thats messed up. But RU 486 only works in the first month and the surgical is supposed to only be performed thru the first trimester. And there are enough kids without homes here. "Oh just put it up for adoption", blah blah blah, there isnt room for the kids we have now, why add to that?

Nothing good will come out of it. And i'm sick of all these people saying "your killing your baby" etc, I bet they have never been in this situation before therefore cannot make judgement. My sister recently had an abortion it was the right choice if she had gone through with the pregnancy she would have ruin her life aswell as the kids, cause she'd have no way of looking after if let alone herself. Illegalizing abortion would be the stupidess thing ever. Gee animals can purposely misscarry their babies yet do we judge them no

Illegalizing abortion will simply make it an "underground" practice, like Prohibition. During the Prohibition era, more criminal, illegal activity erupted than ever before, causing it to be shortlived. Illegalizing abortion will do the same; unlicensed butchers will arise, more women will be dying in unsanitary conditions, perhaps more partial abortions, and pricing unregulated. This will only do more harm, than any good. Like alcohol, we can choose to buy the poison that kills, or not, same with abortion. I understand both sides, pro and anti, but illegalizing abortion will give birth to more unwanted pregnancies, mommies killing their own fetus; whether wrong, right, it needs to stay legal.

i personally think that it should become legal because it is up to the individual to decide what to do and illegalizing it will take away an opportunity to a group of peopla because if you dont want an abortion you don't have to have one. Would you rather HAVE to have a child and let that child grow up in an abusive home because it's parents don't know how to take care of the child?.........hmm... and than be forced into foster homes witch are alredy overpopulated and may go into a home that is horrible and disgusting?

none whatsoever...just a rise in illegal..backstreet..very dangerous abortions !it should be kept legal, after all, isn't it better for a baby (if you can even call it that at the early stage)..or rather a foetus...to be aborted and therefore never experience the cruelties of life, than to be born to a woman who doesn't want you, and lead a miserable life ?

If a woman is raped,
If having a child will kill the woman (if she has a disease),
If she has a mental/body disability.
The list really goes on.
Maybe it could be legal in the first few weeks of pregnancy, but I dont believe in post birth abortion.

bringing a child into poverty, and no love. Dead teenagers from self induced abortions. An already over populated earth more populated. World hunger. What about prevention. Rather than unwanted children, or abortion.

Women will stagger into the hospitals with their intestines hanging out their vaginas after shoving a broken bottles into their uteruses trying to induce one themselves. They'll go into toxic shock, and hemorhage to death.
That's what happened before when a society came to value a blob of cells over a woman's right to her own body.
