My friend's driver's license was revoked, and I haven't gotten mine yet . We might like to go to another town, but we can't drive ourselves . I should go visit my aunt soon . It's hard for us to find a friend to drive us, even if we pay for the gas and buy him dinner . We don't know too many people with a car . Anybody who could drive us either works the wrong hours or is too busy . We can't take a taxi, because a taxi would charge hundreds of dollars for a one way trip . I'm not ready to hire a full -- time chauffer, but an unemployed person might be willing to drive us on a long trip if we pay for the gas, buy him dinner, and gave him twenty -- five dollars . If I was going to hire a full -- time chauffer, I'd go to an employment agency . Why can't I go to an employment agency to hire somebody to drive us on an occasional basis ? How do I find the person I'm looking for ?

When you hire someone you have to pay not only salary, but also unemployment insurance, taxes, Social Security, etc.

That's why people use taxis or limos. In that case you hire a sub-contractor who takes care of those things but you pay for that service.

I'm sorry but $25.00 doesn't pay for my time and wear and tear on the vehicle even if I'm unemployed. Not to mention the fact that if anything were to happen (sh*t does happen) your parents would be happy to sue me for operating a limo business without a license...
