I'm known for my long nails, so heres a few tips. I use a nail strengthener. There are various different types that can be found in most chemists, but I personally use a cream, which you rub on the nails and then buff every few days. You can also get varnish forms of strengthener and other types. When you cut them, its usually best square, or slightly rounded and also make sure you file them, so they have no edges to catch on things. It's a good idea to use a hand scrub, followed by moisturizer and file your nails every fortnight or so etc. to keep your hands and nails looking in tip top condition.
You may want to use a clear nail polish daily to keep them looking good. And, when they've grown and your on a night out, be daring and go for a black, or red, or whatever you fancy. They will look stunning!

Fake nails actually make the nails underneath weak because of the chemicals in the glue.
What you have to do is soak them in a table spoon of olive oil and 2 cups of water (4 times a week). It'll keep them hydrated and they won't chip off and break. Also if your a nail biter, you should apply nail polish to your nails every so often, so you won't be tempted to. Washing under your your nails keeps them from getting yellow.

Sally Hansen makes a really good product called "Hard As Nails." Jokingly, my friends and I call it "hard *** nails," obviously because it worked. :)
Hahaha, but yeah...I'd reccomend it. I always had a problem with my nails getting long, then just breaking off. It was really annoying, so I used this and it worked really well. It's very easy to use. It's just a clear, kind of pink-tinted nail polish.
Hope you can find help with it!

dont get fake ones, they can cause so many problems with your natural nails. Just file them, use cuticle cream/oil, and a clear coat of nail strenghtener (try sally hansen) under your nail polish. It's pretty easy really! Good luck!

Calcium helps, I love dairy products and my nails never stop growing. Only problem is, you've got to file them all the time to make sure they don't look like crap.

There's not much you can do. I'm on prenatal vitamins and my nails, along with my hair, are a lot stronger and shinier. But if you aren't trying to conceive or aren't pregnant, I wouldn't suggest them. You can get sick with excess vitamins and minerals in your system.
