I was thinking 6-ish, but maybe people are having dinner then?
Is later more appropriate?

I go with my sister in law aroudn our own neighborhood. My daughter is 2 and we pull her in her wagon and her cousin gets treats for her at the doors. it's dark but it's nice goin with someone else instead of by yourself. I would go between 6:30 - 7ish or when you start seeing kids out in the neighborhood. When my daughter is tired i just go home while my sister-in-law stays later out with her older daughter. it seems to work.

we always go when it gets dark....but i live in alaska and this time a year it gets dark around 6 or so..... hopefully people are smart like me and feed my kids an earlier dinner!!! i would take your child to a halloween carnival or something like that in your area, there are so many around here, and everyone usually starts around six, so it's sounds about right! if you live in a bigger neighborhood just watch for kids to start coming out!
