My family personally don't celebrate Halloween. Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31.

Halloween is now celebrated in several parts of the Western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom and occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zealand.

The ancient people believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause sickness or other damages. So, the people had customs and figures to scare them away.

Now, it is celebrated as fun. children wear costoms and knock on doors for trick or treats.

That's all i know. I hope it helps.

Halloween in America is pretty much a time where kids, even young teens, dress up in costumes, mostly scary things but it could be of anything, and go to other peoples doors and ask for candy. In a basis of one night you give out candy to all kids who come to your door. For older people they go to parties, wearing costumes, and just dance. Halloween is supposed to be scary also, haunted houses are made to go to and such. That's pretty much the jist of it.

We dress up in costumes and knock on our neighbors doors and say "Trick or Treat!" and they give us each a candy. Some people think that it is the "Devils" Holiday, but that is nonsense. It comes from a myth that fairies would run thru the streets on Oct 31st and try to steal our souls. we dress up to disguise ourselves so they wont get us. they knocked on doors to see if it was safe. If they were a treat, they were a human. if they werent human...they got a trick.
Its just a sill thousand year old legend that we celebrate in a holiday form. and in mexico it is called the Day of the Dead, and they remember the dead and have festivals.
Nothing to be scared of! Its really just fun.
The worst that could happen is that a dump teenager will toilet paper your house or smash your pumpkin.

It is the one day a year when we can dress up like the children do and spy on foreigners and commence with the covert ops that we use to gain valuable info about foreigners living here.

And the bonus is they are forced by society to conform and purchase treats for the youth.

No Halloween is celebrated almost everywhere. Really what it's about in america is to celebrate the fact that we have one day to do whatever we want with our appearance, but in Mexico, the celebrate it as the "Day of the Dead", thinking that if they worship their dead loved ones they will be able to make contact with them even though they are dead.
