My imaginary FRIEND stopped playing with me when I was about age 10 ,,,but my imaginary LOVER still "plays" with me regularly!She is very pretty!

THEY do not stop, it is oneself moving on.... Imaginary friends/lovers, are a psychological device to help one cope in times of need. Who/what they represent is subjective and specific to the subject's context. They may come in and out of one's life in times of crisis or need; maybe the same ones or a different one. It is common in childhood, but there is nothing wrong in adopting the same as an adult, as a temporary coping strategy.
