Forget the laptop, who cares about that, this next thing is going to be much better. Retain a lawyer and he will end up begging you to back off. You must file for child support immediately and if he doesn't pay and gets all smug, let him for awhile. He will be paying you for the rest of his life like my brilliant ex is going to be paying me. They think they can get away with anything not realizing every month that passes without payment results in interest and eventually interest on top of interest that they can never even HOPE to pay down without taking out a loan. You can buy 80 new laptops by the time you are done with him.

You're lumping things together.
• Child support: separate issue; take him to court.
• Debts: if both of your names are on the loans, you can take him to court for that, too. You will still be responsible for paying it off, but you can go after him for at least part of the amount.
• Laptop: is it something you must have? The easiest option would be to trade the $300 you owe him to get the laptop back. I know you feel that he owes you much more than that, but if you need your laptop, it's less expensive to part with $300 than to get a new one. Then take legal action to have him pay his portion of his debt, and his child support.
• Keep it cool, and remember that you, yourself, got into this situation. Try to work through each problem in a rational manner. Yelling, screaming and making demands is not going to solve anything.

to start with do you have a court order stating how much child support he is to pay and how often and i dont wan t to hear i dont need any help from him your child deserves 2 parents to cover the bills if u dont actually need the money to support the child put it in the bank and use it for education or a nice nest egg for your child to start a business if he is court ordered then you need to get on the friend of the courts butt and insist they put him in jail for non support as far as your laptop goes and the other debt take him to small claims court and make him either give the laptop back pay off the debt and everything else stop taking his bs

He owes you 2 years worth of back child support, car payments on a vehicle that he bought and he is holding your laptop for ransom.
I think a trip to the police station is needed and have him arrested for non-payment of child support not to mention theft and general stupidity, even though that is not a crime...hey it works for me.

Hi
You don't owe him anything. You should keep that $300 for child support. Report him for not paying child support, and they will put him in jail. As for the laptop, get the police so you can get it back.

Go to court about the child support issue and the laptop.
Call the police and have him arrested for theft.
Make sure you have your credit flagged so no one can use your identity without your permission.
Bottom line: Stand up for yourself

Get a lawyer to get child support. If y'all were living together maybe your relationship will fall under common law marriage and you can dwindle some of the debt to him. Prove that y'all were common law marriage and talk to the lawyer!
