I can't help you with the code for the ratio, but there is a tag on one bolt of the rear end that will have some numbers stamped on it. They usually tell you the ratio. 3.43, or 2.73, or whatever, These are the ratio to one. As in 3.43 to 1. I have seen some that have the number of each gear so you may have to do a little division.

Any Chev dealer parts dept can decipher the option label codes for what gear ratio came with the van originally....usually a G code like G44, G32, etc... If you get another axle, there may be a tag on the diff cover that has info for what ratio it has...otherwise, pull the cover and count the teeth on ring and pinion and divide them out to find the ratio...I.E. 41 tooth ring and 10 tooth pinion = 4.10 gear ratio.
