if it came with instructions use them. but, if not here's usually what to do, with pci plugins.

1. Go to Start menu, accesories, system tools, system restore, and choose create a restore point. name it: working perfectly pc before modem. this is in case something happens after.

2. Turn off your computer

3. disconnect all wires to and from the computer and then open the case.

4. put the modem into a open pci card slot. push firmly and make sure it is in. Connect all wires.

5. Turn on the computer, and let it boot up to your desktop.

6. pop in the cd that should have come with it, and install the driver. if no cd, go online to the manufacterer's site and download the driver.

if that doesn't work, then contact the manufacterer.

Okay unplug the PC,,,,,then Open the Case up,,,should open from the Side....

Look for the PCI Slots.....
Here is a diagram of them:http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en-commons/thumb/a/a9/300px-Pci-slots.jpg

Line the card up and put it in the PCI Slot...The Metal piece on the card will line up to the back of the PC.

After this is done plug PC back in and boot up...

When WIndows boots up it might detect this hardware,,,otherwise just put the disk in and install the drivers....

Easy as that:)

DEFINATELY follow the instructions!!!
You might need to install their software first, or maybe after the hardware, but it could make a big difference!

As for installing it, power off and open the case, and put it wherever it fits. If it goes in, then that's the right place (seriously!!!).
