Most places will just because it puts up a red flag for them. Even if it is paid off. Your best bet is to go to a private owner. They are more willing to work with people and some don't even do a credit check. Good Luck!

Many large apartment communities will deny you. They consider you a risk. If a place does take you, sometimes they will make you pay an extra month's rent upfront or additional security deposit-equal to another months rent. Rent X's 3. And you must make rent or greater in a week at your job.

Try looking for a private landlord. They are more understanding and willing to negotiate. Large apartment communities have a set standards, and do not usually bend the rules.

Sorry to put it like that but it is true. A friend of mine was in the same shoes as you. Everyone told her no. But she found a private landlord who negotiated with her. She was honost upfront, and that is what landlords like.

Try explaining the situation, and remind him that you took responsibility for it and paid it in good faith, just not good time!

You'll find a place before you know it! Good luck!

Most likely, they will. They will consider you a bad risk. If you can find one that will, you may have to pay more up front.

possibly, but if you are up front and admit and explain, then you have a better chance I think.
