of the 2 parties would you say does more wasteful spending?
The Dems with their domestic programs to help people (welfare, education, social programs...) or the Reps. spending (on whatever you choose to say they spend mostly on)???

So far only Mr. Peanut has a well rounded answer. We need to look at the last ten years, not go back to the 70's, and those who don't count war spending, homeland security, the judicial system, and contracts with private companies to do government jobs (Blackwater, for ex.) as government spending, well they do count.

It's a well known fact for anyone that does the research that Republicans spend more money than Democrats. But Republicans don't pay for it, Democrats do. What confuses people is that the Democrats have a tendency to pay as they spend while the Republicans pass the bill on to future generations. That's why you have to more taxes while a Democrat is in office. The Republicans drive up the national debt. and then unjustifiably accuse the Democrats of spending too much money.

The Dems win this one without even trying.

Check out the cost of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, in that order, and I think you'll find it a tad difficult to find that the Rep wastrels can keep up with programs like those. If necessary, realize that those programs are the kind that keep on giving more and more and more as the years pass.

Of course, it cannot continue indefinitely (read: not once the baby boomers show up at the window asking for their checks) so it will be most interesting to see how the Dems restructure those programs in a way that allows them to blame the Reps for the fact that the programs are financially unsustainable. Should be interesting!

I think they should simply ban pork barrel and earmark spending. Use of the line item veto would help too.

I think there is so much waste, I don't see much good on either side.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel. You guys make my point about libs without even knowing it. Here you go, spouting off about spending...and you don't even know what it is the repubs are spending it on. Bahahahahahah....why, oh why, do you guys make this so easy? You only see one side of any issue...something I've always stated about the left.
