Yes I do. Adversity develops character, and if we all had nothing but green lights and blue skies our whole life, I'd imagine we'd be bored, lack character, and wisdom. You learn from mistakes and from the bad times. You enjoy the good times even more when you know what bad times really are.

Yes, I do. I think that some things, you may never know why they happened while other things, it may find out later, but I do believe that things happen for a reason.

An example from my life.....my sister started a university when she graduated from high school. After a year and a half, she transferred to a local, lesser known school and graduated from there. My parents always thought that she transferred because her friend transferred...like she followed her friend. Well, one of her professors and I became really good friends (long story) and over time, we've dated, became best friends and he has totally transformed my life. We're not getting married, but my life would not be the same without him. So, my point is that if she had not transferred, I would've never met him. Not to mention that the school that she transferred to has one of the best programs in the state for the degree that she got.

So, yes, things happen for a reason.

Hmmm, there are two directions you could go with this. The things that happen happen because of things you've done, so they happen for a reason.

The other direction is forward in time, meaning that somehow we are all fated to have things happen to us. This is a romantic notion I think people have developed to make themselves feel better about bad things and feel happy about good things.

Other than that there is fate, and karma (which is similar), and whatnot. Although with these the things that happen neither are good nor bad, and do not happen for any particular reason, they just happen.

yes, everything happens for a reason. the reason i decided to answer this question is because i thought i could answer it well. the reason i thought i could answer it well is because i have thought about this many times. the reason ive thought about it many times is because i sometimes wonder about the meaning of life and wether or not god/s exist. the reason i have thought about those things is because i have never seen proof of these things. the reason i have never seen proof is because i really don't think there is any. the reason i don't think there is any is because a very large group of people agree with me. i could go on for hours, but ill just shut up now =P

I think everything happens for a good reason... it may not be something we are aware of at the moment. Usually you see it later on, down the road.... it's like the guy who missed his bus, and later that bus crashed and killed everyone on board.. he was mad that he had missed that bus... turns out, was for his own good

Yeh, sort of, but I suppose we will never know what life would be like if we had done something different.
Example, have you ever seen the Butterfly effect?

i think everything does happen for a reason; it is our choices that bring us to where we end up, which happened for a reason because we thought them.
