When I was 6-8 (waaay back in 1968-ish), we could roam the neighborhood all day without fear of being kidnapped, molested, or anything else.
You could play without fear.
20 years later when MY kids were that age, I couldn't allow them out of the yard without fearing for their safety.

I remember you could smoke in the K-Mart diner, which is two things that are different now. No smoking, no diner in big stores. Wal Mart has a McPuke's but....

Floppy disks......when I was taking keyboarding in middle school...we used the the big black "floppy" disks...now they are small hard plastic....but they have recently been replaced by thumb drives.
