After a lifetime of voting Republican, Haggard has declared himself fed up with the war, with American jobs going overseas and with Wal-Mart replacing mom-and-pop shops. He says he's ready to vote for a Democrat.

"Music Star" Who the hell is he?

Didn't Merle Haggard serve time in prison? Just asking.

redrum-- my point is that he MIGHT NOT be the type of individual that I would seek advice from regarding politics or any other issue for that matter!
As far as musicians singing songs that are true to their heart, consider Dave Matthews, Mr. "liberal, earth friendly conservationist"... his tour bus got caught dumping a load of human waste into the Chicago river a few years ago. Give me and the rest of a break already. You liberals are getting way too easy to catch in your hypocrisy. LOL!

Merle best do more homework. It was a Democratic President, Bill Clinton that gave us the Wal Mart mess and the likes. Google clinton-china China trade agreements, Hillary Clinton on Wal Mart Board of Directors? Those ads you see now from Wal Mart are an effort to buy past the truth. Truth is they support Chinese low labor costs to hand the US a discounted price.

I adore country music. But believe in this case he's mistaken. Thanks.

I've felt that way for years, but then again, I'm a lifelong Democrat. I think all this "Homeland Security" garbage is just that--I'd rather have the freedoms guaranteed me by the Constitution than be fenced in in the name of fighting terrorism. It's not just the terrorists' movements they're restricting.

He can't think no better than he sings. If he thinks it's bad now, just wait until a demo gets in there. He'll be singing Okie from Mexicogee.... in Spanish.
