had any massive raids on anywhere like they did on Iwo Jima or D-Day. Now it's more tactical. Or am i wrong?

Essentially the romantic idea of war is no longer a reality, as you can achieve the results with state of the art technology rather than human lives.

In all honesty, Vietnam was the last primarily ground conflict the United States has been involved in, and I do not see it changing as time progresses.

D-Day was an invasion - not a raid. Inchon is probably the closest.
There hasn't been anything similar since then.

Vietnam had many raids, but they were scattered all around the country. They had a smaller invasion at the time of Desert Storm also.
