There's more sunlight for safety. But then isn't the fun part is doing it in the dark?

From my point of view in my day; If they extended the day light, one hour for Halloween, we would have waited until it got dark. The night is the best time of day for trick or treating. Maybe today, because of the extended light for one hour, the paranoid parents, who take their children out for trick or treating, would in fact feel that going out at 17:00 instead of 16:00 is safe enough for their kids to go.
For everything we associate with Halloween, the night time is the key factor, and without the night, to me, there would be no Halloween.

Makes no sense of what you ask since Halloween is tonight and we do not set our clocks a head till Saturday night or 2 AM Sunday morning which means Halloween is over and done with.

I think it'll be less for younger kids and more for older kids. After all, teens operate better at night what with the throwing eggs and TP'ing houses and all.
