until they reach a conclusion that satisfies their curiousity
it's not about having a purpose
it's about finding a purpose
the quest for knowledge is the only reward
after every answer you can always ask why
do you use your time trying to find something you can't
or do you waste your mind and just live aimlessly
that's the choice

They keep asking because they don't want to accept the answer.
Purpose of life requires God. Meaning requires God. Point requires God. So we're constantly being directed to seek God. But that would mean abandoning our desire to be independent. We can't honestly seek God and still be masters of our fate and captains of our soul. So we keep looking at things to do that will make us feel better or too busy to think about a meaningless existence. But the question is always there in the back of our minds.
A story comes to mind. A hiker has fallen over a cliff and he's hanging onto a tree limb. He calls out for help. A booming voice answers. The hiker asks who it is and the voice answers "God". "What should I do now", the hiker asks. "Let go, I will save you" the voice answers. After a long pause, the hiker yells out, "anyone else up there?". The moral is that we desperately want to be saved but only on our terms.

They are probably just unaware of how high the number is of this question being asked- or want new original answers from people that may have not been on the board to answer the last however many times it has been questioned. As the Beatles would say, just let it be...

As many times as there are curious people. I may have asked and found an answer which would do nothing for the next person who has to seek for himself....

I don't know the others meaning or points, but mine is to be a correct, nice and helpful person with everybody. Learn equality, logic and forgiveness. When I'll get there completely, I'll probably die and die happy.

MM I wonder too. I also wonder 'what is the meaning of asking the question - "what is the meaning of life?"'. However that is a psychology question.
