Our 6 month old baby girl just got her 6th month shots, and the doctor wanted to give her a flu shot as well onn Monday. Tuesday we introduced rice cereal (very little) to her as well as a taste of juice. That night she vomited quite a bit in bed. I wasn't sure if she just got too full or what.

Today (Wednesday), I fed her at 8:15am 7 ounces of formula...then fed her again at 12:40pm 5 ounces of formula. At 2:00pm I tried giving her a taste of juice. She vomited again quite a bit, like 3 times onto the highchair tray. Now I know she wasn't that full. Could it maybe be the flu shot causing this? Anyone have any similiar experiences?

It could be the shots OR the juice. The best thing to do would be to wait a couple days and make sure she's back to normal and maybe on Saturday introduce the juice again.

My daughter will be getting the 6 month shots in the next week-- I hope she doesn't feel so dumpy!! :-(

It definitely could be the shots, or the introduction of the juice... juice is a lot more watery, and the first few times we tried it my son would throw up like juice with little curds in it... but now at 7 months he gets a bottle of juice a day for regularity (if you know what I mean), and he does great with it.

I would stop the juice for now, and see if the vomitting stays or goes... also take her temp... if the vomitting stays or she has a temp just call the doctor and see what they want to do.

I have heard a lot of bad things about the flu shots and since I stay home with my son, I opted not to get it for him. They really recommended it, but I've seen bad reactions... sick like the flu for up to a week from just the shot.

Good luck, I hope the little princess feels better soon!

Stop giving her the juice and the cereal and see if she stops the vomiting. If she doesn't vomit again you'll know what it is...

Only add one thing at a time when adding food to your baby's diet.

It was her 6th month shots. Very common for babies to vomit afterwards. She'll be OK is a couple of days.

it could be the shot. ya never know when it comes to babies. or it could be the rice cereal you introduced. her immune system is probably trying to overcome it, but it can't.

you should try one more time and if she throws up again, ask her doctor about it.
